Purpose of the qualification

The qualification lays the foundation for the development of management competencies required by retail managers currently operating as junior managers. The qualification introduces key terms like concepts, principles and practices of management that will enable learners to be informed as managers in their occupations.

After successful completion, learners will be able to:

  • Gather and analyse information
  • Analyse events that impact on a business and its competitive environment
  • Complying with organisational standards
  •  Motivate an individual or team
  •  Negotiating in a work situation
  • Understand the role of business strategy as it applies to junior management
  • Managing the budget within a specific area of responsibility.

Qualification implementation

This qualification is achieved through the learnership. This means it includes the component of theory (attend Contra-lit contact sessions) and start own business / workplace.
